No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimate

As of January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act (federal law), grants you the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. If you are uninsured or choose not to use your insurance, you are entitled to receive a written estimate of the expected charges for scheduled services at least one business day before your appointment. You can request this estimate by contacting our office at 213-283-0849 or info@modernmindinstitute.com.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For more information on your rights under the No Surprises Act, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
