Our Focus
At Modern Mind Institute, we are driven by a commitment to evidence-based transformation, ensuring that every intervention—from individual therapy to organizational consulting—is grounded in scientific rigor and compassionate care. Our core values prioritize empathy, inclusivity, and resilience, creating a collaborative environment where clients, clinicians, and workplaces can thrive. We believe in empowering individuals and organizations alike through personalized, trauma-informed strategies that foster lasting change.
Our Story
“The secret of joy in work is contained in one word, excellence. To know how to do something well is to enjoy it.”
– Pearl S Buck
Two Paths, One Shared Vision
Our story didn’t begin with a business plan; it began with a shared project and a fast-growing mutual respect back in 2012. As Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), we spent over a decade collaborating on various clinical and educational ventures. Along the way, we realized something vital: we didn’t just work well together—we shared a fundamental belief that every individual is inherently worthy of dignity, respect, and top-tier care.
The Chemistry of Collaboration
What kept us working side-by-side for all these years? It was a mix of things you don’t always find in the same room. We found a rare match in our work ethics and a shared “research itch” to always stay on the pulse of what’s next in mental health.
But beyond the spreadsheets and clinical data, there was the energy. We fueled each other’s enthusiasm and, perhaps most importantly, we never lost our sense of humor. We believe therapy should be profound, but it doesn’t always have to be stuffy.
Why Modern Mind Institute?
We founded Modern Mind Institute because we noticed a gap. We believe that “high-quality care” shouldn’t be a buzzword—it should be a right. We wanted to create a space that offers cutting-edge, evidence-based treatment without the traditional barriers.
By embracing the virtual space, we’ve been able to turn our vision into a reality:
- Increased Access: Quality care is now just a click away.
- Modern Methods: We combine years of clinical experience with the latest psychological research.
- Human Connection: We meet you where you are—literally and figuratively.
Beyond the Screen
While we are dedicated to our clinical work, we believe in practicing the harmony we encourage in our clients. When we aren’t at our desks, you can usually find us seeking out cozy pockets of sunshine, lost in the crowd at a live music venue, or being managed by our beloved dogs.
We’ve built this Institute on a decade of trust and a lifetime of shared values. We’re so glad you’re here, and we can’t wait to be a part of your story.

Reaching out for support takes courage.
Whatever brings you here, we’re honored to be part of your journey.
Step 1: Reach Out
Contact us through our secure online form, email, or phone call. Share briefly what brings you to therapy and any preferences you have. We typically respond within 1-2 business days.
Step 2: Initial Consultation
We’ll schedule a brief 15 minute phone consultation—free of charge. This is an opportunity to ask questions, discuss your goals, and ensure we’re a good fit for your needs. There’s no pressure to commit; this is about finding the right match.
Step 3: Intake Forms
Once you decide to move forward, we’ll send you secure intake forms to complete before your first session. These include basic contact information, confidentiality agreements, and a brief history questionnaire.
Step 4: Schedule your Intake
We’ll work together to find a recurring time that fits your schedule. You’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details: date, time, and video link for your telehealth visit.
Step 5: Your Appointment
Arrive (or log in) a few minutes early. Your first session focuses on getting to know each other—your therapist will explore your history, current challenges, and goals. Together, you’ll begin outlining a path forward. This is also your chance to ask questions and share any concerns.
